Gourmet Stores for Food Shopping in Milan

There’s no question that Italy is as famous for its food as America is for baseball, so what better way to grasp Italy’s culinary culture than by food shopping in Milan? From fruit to meat to cheeses to olive oils, Italy produces thousands of gourmet products that impress even the most earnest and accomplished gourmands.  Yes, you’ll find many a typical European grocery store chain on the streets as well as the more preferential supermarkets Esselunga and NaturaSì, but when you’re food shopping in Milan, you have to dig a little deeper to find the shops that showcase fine gourmet products. Whether you’re looking for authentic Italian craft beer, delicate Ligurian olive oil or exceptional Parmesan cheese to either bring home as gifts for your food-loving loved ones or as your own personal souvenir, here are five of the best  gourmet stores for food shopping in Milan.
